Course Description
This qualification has been developed for those individuals looking to learn basic life support for adults and children. The qualification may support a role in a workplace across any industry, particularly health care, or those participating in any form of social, leisure or sporting activities. This Qualification has been developed in line with the UK Resuscitation council guidelines.

Duration

Entry Requirements

Learners should be a minimum of 14 years to undertake this qualification.

Learners must demonstrate first aid procedures as part of their assessment, including providing CPR to a casualty on the floor. Therefore, learners must be physically capable of performing CPR on the floor.

Course Syllabus
Basic Life Support for Adults and Children
Support a casualty who is unresponsive and breathing
Support a casualty who is unresponsive and not breathing normally
Administer first aid to a choking casualty
Assessment Method
Practical demonstration
The practical assessment of the learners is conducted throughout the course. On-going assessment will involve learners demonstrating practical first aid skills across a number of areas.
