QNUK Level 3 Award in Responding to Incidents with an AED (RQF)

This qualification is aimed those working in an environment where an AED is available and staff members need additional training in its use and maintenance. The qualification has been mapped to current Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines.

Course Description

The Level 3 Award in Responding Incidents with an AED (RQF)  has been developed to meet the needs of employers to comply with Health and Safety training requirements for the provision of equipment, namely an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). It covers the UK Resuscitation council guidelines.

Suitability

This qualification will provide learners with the skills, knowledge and understanding to support individuals responding to cardiac arrests.

Duration

This is a half day (five hour) course. Timings are flexible around client needs. This qualification can be delivered as a “bolt-on” to other first aid qualifications.

Entry Requirements

  • Learners should be a minimum of 16 years to undertake this qualification.

  • Learners must have sufficient command of the English language to understand and undertake the recommended assessment methods for this qualification.

  • Learners must demonstrate first aid procedures as part of their assessment, including providing CPR to a casualty on the floor. Therefore, learners must be physically capable of performing CPR on the floor.

  • There are no other pre-requisites for this qualification.

Practical demonstration 

The practical assessment of the learners is conducted throughout the course. On-going assessment will involve learners demonstrating practical first aid skills across a number of areas.

Multiple-choice question paper 

Candidates are assessed by the completion of a single multiple-choice question paper.  

6 multiple-choice questions 

The pass mark is 4 correct answers (70%)
