Course Description
This qualification is aimed those who have completed a workplace first aider qualification as outlined in the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982, and who are refreshing their knowledge and skills as outlined in the above regulation. This qualification will support a role in the workplace

This qualification will provide learners with the skills, knowledge and understanding to continue carrying out a first aid role in the workplace.

Duration
This is a three hour course. Timings are flexible around client needs.
Entry Requirements

Learners should be a minimum of 14 years to undertake this qualification.

Learners between 14-16 years can undertake the qualification, however they should not be relied upon by employers to be a sole emergency first aider.

Learners must have sufficient command of the English language to understand and undertake the recommended assessment methods for this qualification.

Learners must demonstrate first aid procedures as part of their assessment, including providing CPR to a casualty on the floor. Therefore, learners must be physically capable of performing CPR on the floor.

There are no other pre-requisites for this qualification.

Administer first aid to a choking casualty

Assessment Method
Practical demonstration
The practical assessment of the learners is conducted throughout the course. On-going assessment will involve learners demonstrating practical first aid skills across a number of areas. ​
