Three Day Course 

QNUK Level 3 Award in Rescue Trauma and Casualty Care (RTACC) (RQF)

​

A dynamic, engaging and effective three-day course developed by leading healthcare professionals for pre-hospital care providers working in high-risk workplaces. Ideal for ambulance staff, firefighters, police medics and authorised firearms officers, offshore medics and industry personnel.

​

Work at height, below ground, at sea or in a remote or hostile environment? We provide bespoke training packages with emergency scenarios specific to workplaces or sites to meet the learning needs of staff and responders. RTACC courses supplement theoretical lessons with practical and immersive scenarios using moulage, high-fidelity prosthetics and live casualties. Our actors will bleed, scream, faint and may even fight back as you assess and treat their time critical injuries. You will see it, feel it and deal with it.

This realistic and hands-on approach is designed to give learners confidence to deal with life threatening situations and optimise knowledge retention to improve patient outcomes.

​RTACC is a QNUK accredited course and complies with the Faculty of Pre-hospital Care (FPHC), Pre-hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM) guidelines level E of The Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. This qualification is valid for three years. Candidates are encouraged to complete an annual one-day refresher course (online) and retake the initial qualification before certificate expiry to remain qualified.

RTACC is the third step on the ATACC Integrated Emergency Care Programme (IECP) and meets the requirements of the Security Industry Authority for close protection operatives.

​Requirements

  • Candidates must be at least 18 years old on the first day of training.

  • Candidates must have sufficient command of the English language in order to understand the assessments.

  • Candidates must have an understanding of basic First Aid and ideally have attended a 1 day First Aid Trauma and Casualty Care (FTACC) or Emergency First Aid at Work course within the last 3 years.

  • Due to the nature of this qualification, candidates should be physically capable of undertaking practical assessments in a range of environments.
